Transcription: Drop in form I think is paramount in the interpreting process. If we're going from English into ASL, we need to be able to listen to what the English utterance is and take into consideration who's saying it to who, what their relationship is, why they're saying it, the affect, what their voice is doing with it, what kind of meaning comes across with their voice, with the words to help me figure out what it is that they mean. Once I can figure out what they mean, I don't need to use the same words because that's not what an interpretation is. When I get to the meaning, then my job is, okay, now ...
